About Me

Hi, I’m Michele Finotto

You might be wondering how to make your idea into a reality which is actually what I love to do. So if you’re looking for somebody to help you build your next big idea into a finished product, I might be the right person for you.

By the age of 23, I was nominated by BusinessWeek as one of Europe’s Best Young Entrepreneurs. I’ve also been mentioned on the following press:

Wired BusinessWeek
NY Times Corriere della Sera

Full-stack Web developer

I’m a developer and have been for most of my life.
I was drawn to computers early on and it was love at first sight. However, unlike most of my friends, I didn’t like to play video games: I wanted to write computer software!
And so it began: Basic, Pascal, C/C++ and finally made the leap to Web development, learning PHP and then switching to Ruby on Rails.

My focus is on managing medium to big projects, delivering an all-inclusive service, which means we discuss the project and I’ll complete it from the beginning to finally putting it online.

Lately, I’ve been mostly working on my own projects, however I’m willing to do some freelancing if the project and client are a good fit for me.

I’ve done other things in my life, but coding has always been included to some extent: it’s what I love to do and it gives me great pleasure to build something out of nothing while solving challenging problems.

Let’s talk about your next project!

When I was a kid and people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I’d always answer: “An entrepreneur!”

Maybe it was because my father was one, but mainly I wanted to run my own business, which is why I ended up deciding to drop out of college to start one with two high school friends.

Since then I started a few businesses, some went well, some other not so much and in the meanwhile I learnt a lot!

Since dropping out of college, I’ve launched a SaaS app, a Web consulting business, a fashion accessories brand, imported and sold wine from Georgia (the country) while shooting documentaries about winemakers, opened a coffee shop in NYC and a Sushi restaurant in my hometown, and consulted for all kinds of businesses — including big players like eBay — wanting to take advantage of what the Web has to offer.

What I learned is that even though it’s difficult, everyone can be an entrepreneur, which doesn’t mean you have to become the next Steve Jobs, but you might as well take charge of your professional life. And now is the best time ever to start your own business and I’m willing to help you do it!

Life Hacker

As much as I don’t like the term ”life hacker”, I guess I’m one.

There are many things you can improve to make your life better, so it’s important to know how to maximize your chances to do so effectively, which led and still motivates me to learn as much as possible about how to improve my health, my brain, my emotions and everything leading to a good life.

I simply love reading about nutrition, how our bodies work, the tricks to make our brains work better to increase productivity, learn faster and reduce stress.

If you have any questions or want to talk, just send me an email.

Do you want to start a business?

In my career, I started more than 10 businesses, some where great, others not so much and a couple of them failed hard. At 23 I was nominated by BusinessWeek as one of Europe's Best Young Entrepreneurs. It was and still is a great ride and I want to share everything that I learned with you.
