My new phone

For the past couple of months, I’ve been tempted to change my old mobile — a Nokia 6610, if I remember correctly –, so a couple of days ago, I decided to get myself a brand spanking new Nokia E61i and, boy oh boy, let me tell you it’s fantastic.

It’s my first QWERTY-mobile, so I have to get used to it, but I’m already in love: the design is perfect, it’s got a nice UI and lots of neat features.

One of the best things for sure is the WIFI: having a WIFI-enabled phone let me read my email, browse, etc. from my mobile for free when I’m at the office, at home, or anywhere I can find an open network — which unfortunately is not as easy as it sounds, at least in Italy.
And if you couple it with Fring — a very nice app which allows you to use Skype on your mobile –, it couldn’t get any better.

I’m currently waiting for my mobile carrier to activate PUSH email and then I’m all set.

I’ve been a Nokia-aficionado for a long time and this E61i is exactly what I was expecting from Nokia. A truly great phone, probably the best so-called smart-phone around — I haven’t had the luck to put my hands on an iPhone, yet, still, the E61i is very nice.
So if you’d like to change your mobile and would like to put your hands on the real deal, just get out and get an E61i. ;)

I’ve got only one concern: my thumbs are already a bit aching at night…is it normal when you first start using a QWERTY phone? have you got any experience with it? :(
