On my absence
After reading this, I don’t think I’ll write a sorry for not blogging in a while kinda post.
Instead, I’ll write just a quick explanation — which might sound as an apologize. ;)
During the past months — let’s say six — this blog hasn’t been very active. Actually, since July, it hasn’t been active at all, and considering the del.icio.us links on the right were broken, it really was stale.
The point is I wanted to blog and always promised myself to write a post before going to bed, but never really felt like it.
Since launching 16bugs and starting working on another project — which launched in August and will be introduced in another post — I spent so much time on my computer that at times it felt like I never took some time off of it. And when I did, it wasn’t for blogging, know what I mean? :)
Now, I’m still coding as hell, which, don’t get me wrong, is something I truly deeply love if it’s done in a certain manner — matter for another post, got to write down all of these ideas so that I won’t have any excuses not to write a post ;) –, but I feel like I can devote some time to my blog, also because I really feel like blogging ATM.
I have a few things to write about and also need to refresh my reading list, given I haven’t updated it since May.
And I’d like to do some work under the wood, too. First thing to do will be converting all of my entries from Textile to Markdown, which I’ve come to love much more lately. Oh, and reorganize my archives
What about you? what have you been up to in the past few months?

Glad to hear from you again, Michele!
It looks like you’ve being very busy, and so did I. I’ve spent the latest months on a pretty important project, which will be the basis I will write my thesis on.
Besides that, usual stuff. I think I’ll never be fully satisfied of my private works, so when I have some spare time I try to get my blog look better, with alternate results.
Why did you opt for Markdown, anyways?

Yay! Good to see you posted an entry.
Alright, the same goes for my blog, just a few dedicated visitors. I’m a U.S. Marine so sometimes I don’t have easy access to a computer with an internet connection. For the past 6 months I’ve been on the busiest and most deploy happy units in the Marine Corps, the Marine Expeditionary Unit. Whenever sometimes happens, we are there FIRST before anyone else. We are the very Tip of the Spear. So, we were in the Philippines awhile ago, then we went to the Indonesia area. I’ve been on boat for about two months and if not that, then I’ve been training. But…finally I’m back. I’m about to re-enlist for three more years with a unit that doesn’t deploy and I’m about to FINALLY get married. …….Military life. Gotta love it.

@ Andrea: I came to love Markdown because it has a much simpler and easier to implement syntax. Plus, it seems much cleaner (as an example, take how links work in both).
Also, I was a bit upset with Ruby’s Textile gem (RedCloth), which I use on 16bugs, because it’s far from perfect and that made me make the switch to Markdown/Bluecloth on my next project. :)
@ Christoper: thanks for stopping by, buddy. I wish you the best for the future! :)

I promise I’ll now try to keep posting a bit more — I was actually writing an entry right now…
