Pearl Jam by Pearl Jam

Pearl Jam cover Yesterday, Pearl Jam’s new album was released and, of course, I bought it yesterday morning.

I’ve already listened to it a few times and I must say it’s not bad at all.
You can always expect something good from great bands like they are, but it definitely exceeded my expectations.

First of all, I liked it’s aggressiveness. They’ve been around for quite a long time and it’s great they still rock really bad.
But it’s not just another rough and aggressive album: they all are — it goes without saying — very talented musicians and song writers and you can tell it by listening to some of the tracks in this album.

My favorite tracks, at the moment, are — in no particular order: Comatose, Gone and Inside Job.

Sure enough there are a couple of songs I don’t really like — even though I’m sure it’s because they need some time to be grasped –, but I feel like it’s a better album then the previous, Riot Act, which was still good but never managed to wow me — maybe just half of it wasn’t that wowing.

Probably I’m a bit spoiled because I like them so much, but keep in mind I consider Pearl Jam at different than most bands. When I say something from them is quite good, I mean it’s still amazing compared to the work of most bands.
They are one of the few bands that really get me going, make me excited because of a new album coming out and because of a new tour nearing.

Talking about their tour, I really was happy to spend 60 Euro to see them live in Verona, in probably what is the best venue in the world for a concert. I really was happy.
Unfortunately, tickets were sold out in less than one hour and now I’m not even sure if I’ll be able to see them in Milan. It sucks so bad!

As for the album, it’s very nice and if you like good music, I suggest you go get it.
You won’t regret it.

Update: You might want to see them perform live right after May 4th recordings of the Late Show with David Letterman . It will be on in a couple of minutes.
