Rebooted: Say Hi to Blinkoreen

It’s been almost a year since I released Monk which was a theme I was very satisfied with and that’s why it managed to stay in place for 355 days.
But I felt it was becoming old, thus I decided to jump on the CSS Reboot bandwagon and redesign my blog.

Here comes Blinkoreen

Blinkoreen is the name for the new design. It comes in two variants: the default one, blue and pink, and an alternative one, orange and green.
I tried to keep it as simple as possible. And again, I aimed at creating a design that will keep me satisfied for another year.

The site itself isn’t changed much. The most evident change is the more prominent use of tags — categories are mostly dead — which you can see in the archives page.

Still using Wordpress

Many times I’ve thought about moving to Textpattern and probably I will in the near future.
The main reason for switching to Textpattern is it handles sections thus it would allow me to integrate the oh-so-neglected reading list in the main website in a much better way.

I didn’t want to make the switch at this time for two reason:

  1. I built the theme in less than two days thus hadn’t got the time to tweak Textpattern how I’d like to
  2. Wordpress’s theme system would allow me to switch back to the old theme in a matter of seconds should something go wrong.

Tell me what you think

As always, I’d be very happy to know what you think about my new desing.
And should you find any bug, submit it to the bug tracker.

Talking about bugs, I was almost shocked to see IE displays this new designs almost perfectly. ;)

Update: if you like my new theme, vote for it . :)
