Italian General Elections

In about 2 weeks, Italians will have to vote. And it’ll be a crucial vote.

After 5 years, I feel the current government did more harm than good. But that’s said about most governments around the World. ;)
What really makes me sick is how the PM — slimy Berlusconi — worked to achieve what was good for HIM and his friends and his businesses, not for Italians.

If it wasn’t for him becoming a politician more than ten years ago, he’d probably be in prison right now.
During these past 5 years his party worked hard to pass a lot of laws allowing Berlusconi to escape some of the processes he was involved in. These processes included crimes as bribery and fraudulent accounting.
IMHO, he’s just a filthy criminal not a good politician. But yet again, it’s just my opinion.

And to be clear, it’s not that I really like Berlusconi’s opponent — Romano Prodi — either. Actually, I don’t like him at all.
Mostly I don’t like his past political choices — he was, and probably still is at the bottom of his heart, a Christian Democrat: Christian Democrats kinda ruined post-war Italy.
But I have to choose the better bad, and I’d rather see Prodi than Berlusconi governing for the next 5 years.

The fact that even Bush was re-elected makes me worry a bit.
I guess we’ll have to wait and see…
