Me, Myself…and Green
2006.01.19More than a year ago I’d wrote an entry saying how difficult it was for me to use colors other than hues of blue when designing websites.
In the past 12 months I think I managed to solve this issue. Indeed, Monk has been up and running since May 2005. And it is blue-free!
Now I have another problem with colors which actually extends to every aspect of my life: I can’t stand green.
You guess what’s next…
To defeat my aversion to green, I think I need to create something green. So I’ve decided to create a new layout using green.
I still don’t know if it’ll be a redesign of this blog, a completely new website — which would arise another problem: finding content for it ;) — or make a theme for Wordpress.
Sure enough, you’ll be the first to know what I’ll choose. Even though redesigning this website is something that’s getting more and more appeal every day that passes by… :)

I have similar color tendancies with layouts except mine is of wanting to only use shades of pink, orange, or brown in everything!

it’s not that I hate it. I simply can’t find uses for it.
Actually, I’m starting to like it, indeed my mobile phone is green, and while I didn’t like it at first, now it doesn’t bother me at all.
The next step — the one that will really makes me say: “Wow, now my color palette is complete!” ;) — is, as I said, to create something green. :)

I had the same experience.
The early desings of Wooden Fish were primarily blue, then later I have tried black and white, and now the current design is primarily green.
In fact, it’s not bad at all, quite contrary I have sticked with this color variation for quite a while. I guess it all comes down to finding that right shade of the color.
I wish you the best luck on your color breakthrough!
