Archive page and other improvements
After maybe too much time, today, I created an Archive page.
It’s intended to provide an easy way to access this weblog’s archive.
By adding an archive page, I’ve also been able to remove the archive and categories sections from the sidebar.
Finally, I cleaned up the sidebar on posts pages and added a list of related posts for each entry.
Oh, I also added a link: I am today.
I hope you’ll enjoy these improvements! :D
Update: I forgot to mention I was inspired by Jason Kottke’s archives page and a little bit by Michael Heilemann’s. Though, it’s still a pretty standard page…

Haha, thanks for adding my blogger. Anyways, I havent used my blogger in a while because I just got my own server and everything else is going there, my wordpress is running on a nightly version, its working pretty great, maybe I have to upgrade the nightly tonight. Oh plus Im planning to make a template structure for the new 1.5 wordpress. Hope it works out fine, anyways “Great Progress!”
I like how you are trying to keep things clean. Oh and by the way, your archive page kinda reminds of binary bonsai archive page. Oh while you are at it, i think it would be a great idea to maybe put the links in a separate page too.

Well, I linked to your blogger just because your new website is still under construction: I’ll change the link as soon as you open it.
Actually, I was inspired more by Kottke than Binary Bonsai, maybe I’ll just put a note in the entry itself.
As for the links: I thought about using a different page, but I can’t decide… :)

Looking good as always Michele!
I have been wanting to do something similar to my side bar for the past few days but haven’t got around to it (sort of like those holday photos I was going to upload). I’m intruiged though, what plugin are you using for the related posts?

Thank you! Glad you like it.
You can find the plugin I’m using here.
BTW, how’s mybb’s development going? As you might remember, I’m waiting for the new release, to switch my phpbb board! ;)

The new release is getting there. Mainly I have to build the installer, upgrade scripts and finish off a few remaining things then maybe clean up a bit of the frontend more making it validate properly..

Approximate date? ;)
I know it’ll be a great pain to switch from phpBB to MyBB, mainly because I’ll have to convert attachments almost by hand. But I hope - and think - it’ll be worth it… :D

End of February either in public release or private beta. The beta, whenever it finally is should take about 2 weeks as we’re caring more about the major functionality based errors during that process and we’ll work on the other issues and release service packs once the release is out..
Which does remind me, it is time to do a bit of work on that damned MyBB website :P
