Contraception
2004.10.23I think contraception might be considered as an always-hot issue. There are people who think it’s a great step ahead and it helps sexual freedom. Others, instead, think it’s a devil’s weapon. Who’s right?
Of course, I don’t have THE answer. I have my answer.
Contraception in general is a great thing. At least for those people who want to live their sexual life. Of course, it has to be sided by diseases prevention (read condoms), when not sure about the partner. And well, it may also help, as Gina Lynn wrote, as an “airbag”: if something goes wrong with one method (again, read condoms… ;) ) you might have another “shield” (might be the pill).
It is not because you forbid use of contraception methods that teenagers will stop to have sex. Instead, if you promote it, you’ll make their (of teenagers and, of course, of non-teens) sexual life much more safer. So we must have access to all of the possible methods (well, of those proved to be safe…).
Of course, if you’re a some sort of puritan you’re not likely to like those devil’s weapons, but, hey, you’re not going to need them… ;)
I don’t know if I’ve been clear. So, I’m here to clear your doubts! Just drop a comment… :D
